Ticats' Masoli sets new CFL record for consecutive completions

Hamilton Tiger-Cats quarterback Jeremiah Masoli etched his name in the CFL record books during Saturday's contest against the Edmonton Eskimos.

The 5-foot-10, 228-pounder completed 23 straight passes in the club's massive comeback victory in Edmonton, breaking the previous mark of 22 set by Jason Maas in 2008. In a unique twist of fate, Maas was on the other sideline with a front row view as he currently coaches Edmonton.

Masoli finished the game a ridiculous 31-for-38, for 381 yards and three touchdowns as Hamilton stormed back from 31-6 down to win 37-31. The fourth-year man entered the 2016 season with just 33 completions in his CFL career, but has taken over the starter role for the Ticats as Zach Collaros continues his recovery from a torn ACL.
