Bombers' Dressler cleared to play Thursday vs. Tiger-Cats
The anemic Winnipeg Blue Bombers offense will get a much-needed boost on Thursday as head coach Mike O'Shea confirmed receiver Weston Dressler has been cleared for action against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
Dressler left the club's opening week loss to the Montreal Alouettes with a head injury and missed their Week 2 loss defeat at the hands of the Calgary Stampeders.
Through two games, the Bombers have only scored 36 points, just one ahead of the Alouettes for the lowest total among teams that have played multiple contests. This comes on the heels of a 2015 campaign that saw the team average a league-worst 291 yards per game.
The speedy 30-year-old has five seasons of more than 1,000 yards receiving and was one of the biggest additions in Winnipeg's offseason, coming over from the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
