An hour-long weather delay didn't hurt Kevin Glenn and the Montreal Alouettes in their season opener.

Glenn completed 30-of-42 passes for 332 yards and one touchdown to S.J. Green in the Alouettes' 22-14 victory over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Investors Group Field.

The game was put on hold with 6:57 left in the first quarter, when a weather system brought lightning, thunder, and rain into the area.

Glenn connected with seven different receivers, including Nik Lewis, who caught six passes for 51 yards to put him over 12,000 yards for his career.

Kicker Boris Bede added a pair of field goals from 41 and 47 yards out, and backup signal-caller Brandon Bridge punched in a touchdown from 1 yard out.

The Blue Bombers' new-look offense didn't find its rhythm until late in the contest, and their comeback effort fell just short.

Quarterback Drew Willy threw for 303 yards with a touchdown and one interception, while kicker Justin Medlock struggled early in his debut, sending a kick out of bounds and missing his first field-goal attempt. Medlock made up for the misses with a 58-yard field goal that tied Bernie Ruoff's franchise record.

Winnipeg's newly acquired receiver, Weston Dressler, left the game after going helmet-to helmet with Alouettes rookie defender Ethan Davis, resulting in what appeared to be a concussion. Head coach Mike O'Shea didn't update Dressler's status after the game.

Prior to the game, Chris Walby became the first player inducted into the Blue Bombers' Ring of Honour. Walby won three Grey Cups between 1984 and 1990.

Montreal will now head home for its home opener against the Ottawa RedBlacks, while the Blue Bombers will travel to Calgary to face the Stampeders.
