New-look Blue Bombers host Alouettes to open season

After making some significant noise in free agency, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers will be hoping their new acquisitions pay dividends when they host the Montreal Alouettes on Friday.

The Bombers made a splash by signing running back Andrew Harris and kicker Justin Medlock, and they are banking on the pair to help them return to the playoffs for the first time since 2011.

Harris will make his regular-season debut for the Bombers despite suffering a hamstring injury in practice earlier in the week.

Montreal will also be looking to return to the playoffs after missing last year for the first time since 1996. Duron Carter is back in the fold and if he and Kevin Glenn can form a solid connection, the Als' passing attack could be a sight to behold this season.

The teams split their two meetings last season.
