Argos hope to avenge playoff loss to rival Tiger-Cats in season opener

The Toronto Argonauts will open a new home against an old rival Thursday.

In their first-ever regular-season game at BMO Field, the Argos will host the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and hope to avenge a playoff defeat from the 2015 campaign.

With Zach Collaros still on the mend from a torn ACL that cut his 2015 season short, Jeremiah Masoli will get the start behind center. Masoli was impressive filling in for an injured Collaros during last year's postseason and guided Hamilton to a victory over the Boatmen in the Eastern Semi-Final.

Meanwhile, the Argos will be counting on a familiar face at quarterback. Ricky Ray missed much of last season recovering from shoulder surgery and with Trevor Harris now gone, head coach Scott Milanovich and Co. will be banking on the 36-year-old to return to form.

Toronto will also get its first look at longtime fan favorite Chad Owens in a Ti-Cats jersey. Owens posted 445 receptions and 21 touchdowns in six seasons with the Argonauts.

The Tiger-Cats won all four meetings against the Argos in 2015.
