Hamilton Tiger-Cats head coach Kent Austin announced Sunday that Jeremiah Masoli will get the start at quarterback in Week 1.
Masoli assumes the starting role with Zack Collaros out with a knee injury. Collaros tore his ACL in September, and Wednesday will mark eight months since he had surgery. The club is dedicated to the nine-month recovery timeline, according to Matthew Scianitti of TSN.
Masoli went 15-of-24 for 179 yards and a touchdown in two preseason games against Ottawa and Toronto.
Hamilton travels to Toronto to face the Argonauts on Thursday.
