The passing game was almost nonexistent for the Toronto Argonauts on Friday as the Montreal Alouettes scored 15 unanswered points during the first half - 14 of them in the second quarter - to help close out the preseason with a 22-15 victory.

Cody Fajardo, the primary pivot for the Argonauts, went 7-of-12 for just 87 yards. Devon Wylie and Markeith Ambles were the main targets for Toronto quarterbacks on the evening, with five catches for 64 yards and two catches for 51 yards respectively.

The offense didn't fare much better in the running game: Edwin Baker topped the Argonauts in rushing with just 22 yards on eight carries.

Kevin Glenn led the way under centre for the victorious Alouettes, going 7-of-14 for 109 yards, including a 78-yard bomb Duron Carter hauled in for a second-quarter touchdown. Vernon Adams Jr. also had a passing TD.

Tyrell Sutton paced the Alouettes on the ground, carrying the ball six times for 32 yards, while Tajh Boyd recorded their only rushing touchdown.

A lone bright spot for the Argonauts was a fumble recovery by Josh Mitchell that was returned 46 yards for a touchdown.

The Alouettes finish the preseason with a 1-1 record and will open the regular season on the road against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Jun. 24. The Alouettes fell to the Blue Bombers in Week 1 of the preseason 36-13.

The Argonauts will host the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in Week 1 at BMO Field. The Argonauts defeated the Ticats 25-16 in the first week of preseason play.
