Blue Bombers add OL Butler, release DE Perry
Winnipeg, Manitoba (Sports Network) - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers signed offensive lineman Kelly Butler to an undisclosed contract on Friday.
Butler was drafted in the sixth round of the 2004 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions, where he started 15 games in 2005. The Purdue product also had a one- year stint with the Cleveland Browns in 2006.
"We are very pleased to add an NFL-experienced lineman to our roster," said Blue Bombers head coach Paul LaPolice.
Winnipeg also announced the release of defensive end Fred Perry.
