Argos Kackert wins Offensive Player of the Week
Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Winnipeg Blue Bombers defensive end Jason Vega and kick returner Demond Washington were among the CFL's top players for Week 11 of the 2012 season.
Vega received the defensive honor for recording six tackles and three sacks in a 25-24 loss to the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Sunday.
Washington claimed the special teams award for amassing 145 return yards in the loss, including an 82-yard punt return for a score, which was Winnipeg's first touchdown since Week 9.
Toronto Argonauts running back Chad Kackert captured the offensive award following his career-high 172 rushing yards and three touchdowns in Saturday's 45-31 victory over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
Kackert also contributed through the air, registering 67 yards on six receptions.
Calgary running back Jon Cornish was selected as the top Canadian for the third consecutive week and fifth time this season with a career-best 185 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries in the Stampeders' 20-18 win against the Edmonton Eskimos on Friday.
