Bombers QB Pierce out indefinitely
Winnipeg, MB (Sports Network) - Winnipeg Blue Bombers quarterback Buck Pierce is out indefinitely with torn ligaments and a torn muscle in his left foot.
Pierce left Friday's 42-10 loss to the Eskimos with the injury.
"We received confirmation late yesterday evening that Buck has sustained torn ligaments and a torn muscle in his left foot as a result of Friday's game," the team said in a statement Tuesday. "Buck will be in a walking boot for at least the next week and we have full confidence he will do everything in his power to be back on the field as quickly as possible."
Pierce has thrown for 327 yards with one touchdown in three games this season.
Alex Brink will take over under center while Pierce is out.
