Lions sign WR Paris Jackson to contract extension
VANCOUVER - Wide receiver Paris Jackson signed a contract extension with the B.C. Lions on Sunday.
Jackson played primarily as a backup for the Lions last season, with seven receptions for 117 yards including a 51-yard touchdown strike against the Edmonton Eskimos in Week 17.
"Paris has always been a very good receiver and in recent years he has developed into both a leader and mentor for our younger receivers," said general manager Wally Buono in a statement. "He is an important part of our team and have him return this year is another off-season win for the club."
He also had two catches for 43 yards including a 30-yard catch in B.C.'s Grey Cup win this past November.
"I very pleased to sign this extension," Jackson said. "I believe I can continue to contribute to the team in a variety of roles and this demonstrates that both Wally and (head coach Mike Benevides) feel the same way. I'm ready to do whatever is asked of me to help win another championship."
Jackson has spent all nine seasons of his CFL career with the Lions, totalling 5,533 yards and 31 TDs.
