Ticats bring in RB Mallett
Hamilton, ON (Sports Network) - The Hamilton Tiger-Cats added depth to the running back position on Monday with the signing of Martell Mallett.
"Martell's combination of size, speed and strength makes him a force to be reckoned with. He's a very physical runner and a great receiver out of the backfield. Martell will provide our offence with another potent weapon," said Hamilton vice president of football operations Bob O'Billovich.
Mallett was the CFL's top rookie in 2009 when he rushed for 1,280 yards and six touchdowns with the B.C. Lions. He also caught 43 passes for 342 yards and two scores.
Following his impressive debut, Mallett joined the NFL's Philadelphia Eagles and also spent time with the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants.
