Calgary's Copeland among CFL's top players
Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Calgary Stampeders running back Jeremaine Copeland, Calgary defensive lineman Jim Davis, Saskatchewan Roughriders kicker Luca Congi and Montreal Alouettes linebacker Shea Emry were named the CFL's top players for the 11th week of the season on Tuesday.
Copeland was named the Offensive Player of the Week after catching five passes for 117 yards and two touchdowns in Calgary's 35-34 win over Edmonton. His second score came on an 18-yard pass from Henry Burris with 22 seconds left in the game.
Davis captured Defensive Player of the Week honors after finishing with three sacks, four tackles and a forced fumble in the Stampeders' victory.
Named the Special Teams Player of the Week was Congi, who kicked six field goals and added five extra-point conversions in Saskatchewan's 55-10 rout of Winnipeg.
Rounding out the weekly winners was Emry, who earned Canadian Player of the Week accolades for accumulating a sack and six tackles in Montreal's 28-24 victory over British Columbia.
