WTF: Ndamukong Suh Tries XP

Detroit Lions kicker Jason Hanson injured his right knee during today's game against the New York Jets, and moments later, the Lions scored a touchdown to go up 13-10 in the third quarter, leaving them with a tough decision: Just go for the two-point conversion, or bring the "emergency" kicker in for the extra point kick try?

They chose to go the emergency kicker route, and used rookie Ndamukong Suh to attempt the kick. Yes, Ndamukong Suh, a 307-pound defensive tackle.

I know Suh is a great athlete for his size, but really? A 307-pound kicker? The punter(Nick Harris) couldn't just kick it? Anyway, Suh attemped the extra point, and of course missed, hitting the right upright.

At least the Lions' fans in attendance enjoyed the effort from their sensational(at playing defensive tackle) rookie, although they probably don't enjoy it quite as much anymore- The game went into overtime after the Lions blew a 10-point lead late in the fourth quarter, and the Jets went on to win 23-20. So if not for the missed extra point, the Lions may have won the game.

Here's video via Black Sports Online of Suh attempting the extra point, with Gus Johnson on the call:
