FAIL: Fight Football League

Today in vomit inducing trends that discredit the nature of sports, I bring you the Fight Football League.

According to its website, the FFL is a new form of sports entertainment that was inspired by the ancient Roman game of Harpastum, and not at all a weak attempt to cash in on the current popularity of mixed martial arts and other extreme sports.

Before I put forth too much scorn, I should say that I'm judging the entire "sport" (and I use the term loosely) on the basis of a promo video.  Being quick to jump down the throat of the sports media dinosaurs who dismiss MMA as savage, I really should hold off judgement until I've seen a proper match and learned about the strategy and training involved, but . . . oh, just watch this video.
