Obligatory Sports Babe
This morning we'll go with singer Taylor Swift, who, for some reason, has been elected into the International Bowling Museum and Hall of Fame. According to Sportress of Blogitude, Swift was the winner of an online fan vote to determine this year's celebrity inductee, in a complete travesty that saw her crush both Bill Murray and Jeff Bridges. Really???
Quote of the Day
"I think Diego would be very open to the idea of coming to England and managing Aston Villa." - Diego Maradona's official European representative, Walter Soriano, according to Eurosport.
Searching for The Boz
"Brian Bosworth created a persona and pioneered a new age of slickly marketed superstars. Twenty years after The Boz was released by the Seahawks, reporter Danny O'Neil searches for Seattle's most polarizing sports figure," says the abstract for a fascinating article from the Seattle Times, who want to track down the star of the completely nails shitty movie Stone Cold.
The End For Ronaldo Closer Than He Thinks?
"The Ronaldo that all the other Ronaldos can fit inside returned to training with Corinthians after three months off with a thigh injury and, as you can see above, he probably didn't spend much of that time away with a trainer," says Dirty Tackle, obviously describing a picture that you can't see, but if you've followed the career of three-time FIFA Player of the Year winner and Brazil World Cup star Ronaldo lately you can well imagine. "Though he's already admitted that his body is 'asking him to stop' and declared that he will retire at the end of 2011, his ever-growing list of injuries and expanding belly might be reason enough to call an end to his legendary career now before he hurts himself any further. It's a shame, but it might be for the best."
Baseball Umps Blow One in Five Close Calls
"Outside the Lines analysis found that an average of 1.3 calls per game were close enough to require replay review to determine whether an umpire had made the right call," explains an interesting new report from ESPN. "Of the close plays, 13.9 percent remained too close to call, with 65.7 percent confirmed as correct and 20.4 percent confirmed as incorrect."

Dumb and Dumber as a Thriller
