WIN: Flugtag Record!
Red Bull Flugtag, in case you're unaware, "is an event owned and operated by Red Bull in which competitors attempt to fly homemade human-powered flying machines," explains the crack bit of research I dug up over at Wikipedia. "The flying machines are usually launched off a pier about 30 feet (9.1 m) high into the sea (or suitably sized reservoir of water). Most competitors enter for the entertainment value, and the flying machines rarely fly at all."
In other words, we're not exactly talking about some Gossamer Condor shit here. Usually. However, at the event held this weekend in St. Paul, MN, a team calling themselves Major Trouble and the Dirty Dixies set a record in the sport by constructing a machine that flew 207 feet down the Mississippi River.
I'm sure they got a couple extra feet out of the thing because of the pre-flight dance routine we can see in the second video...
