Fans Of Le Tour

Earlier today, Alberto Contador won his third Tour De France in four years.

With stages that cover 3600 kilometres of road winding through the countryside, climbing up the Alps and finishing on the Champs-Élysées in Paris, it's little wonder that the Tour de France is recognized just as much for its spectacle as it is for being a supreme battle of endurance.

In addition to the scenery, an important part of the spectacle is the fans who travel great distances to be a part of the race.  Here, for your viewing pleasure, are some of this year's best supporters:

TDF el diablo

El Diablo is a Tour legend.  His evil mystic powers are so intense that when the photographer framed this shot, he wasn't even in it and the photographer wasn't using a fisheyed lens either.

TDF cameron diaz

This witch costume was the only outfit that could come close to challenging El Diablo's for its ability to frighten.  It sends chills up your spine, doesn't it?

TDF bikinis

A note to all ladies, but more pointed toward the attractive ones:  If your objective is to cheer a man to move faster, there are probably better methods than wearing a bikini along the side of a road in the hot sun.  I'm not complaining, Velo Vixens, but I thought it was only fair to point out.

TDF brit boys

Oh my god. Nice t-shirts. What, are you like five years old? Did your mommy dress you? Grow up.

TDF neanderthals

This year's Tour had a noticeable lack of controversy.  That was until the time portal opened up during Stage 15.  I know it had to happen so that these unwilling time travelers could go back in time to invent the wheel.  It's just unfortunate that they had to eat those two British children peacefully watching the race.
