Russell Westbrook leaves game vs. Clippers with apparent hand injury

1h ago

Oklahoma City Thunder fans held their collective breath as Russell Westbrook stormed off the court against the Los Angeles Clippers Thursday night after appearing to injure his right hand.

It's not entirely clear from the replay where the injury occurred or how serious it might be, but Westbrook headed to the locker room in a huff, even getting into it with a fan on his way.

With Kevin Durant already on the shelf, the Thunder can ill afford to lose Westbrook for any significant amount of time.

The team did not provide an immediate update, but said Westbrook was questionable to return.

More to come.

Russell Westbrook will not return vs. Clippers after leaving with hand injury

35m ago

Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook left Thursday night's game against the Los Angeles Clippers in the second quarter with a hand injury.

Darnell Mayberry of the Oklahoman reported that Westbrook would not return, though moments later Westbrook showed up on the Thunder bench with his hand wrapped in ice.

That doesn't mean he'll get back on the court, but seeing him still in uniform is a fairly encouraging sign.

Stay tuned, and think positive thoughts.
