Gretzky Next Maple Leafs President?

Rumours of Wane Gretzky potentially being in the running for the role of President of the Toronto Maple Leafs began to circulate on Tuesday evening, with some reports even stating that discussions within Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment regarding Gretzky have already taken place.

But before Leafs fans could get too crazy, hockey insider Bob McKenzie downplayed any "tangible" Gretzky talks have taken place.

There likely was informal 3rd party inquiries - after Bell/Rogers took over Aug but none in last 2 months - and perhaps internal MLSE talks.

Bottom line for me: Gretzky would be all ears if MLSE wants to go down that road but nothing tangible with MLSE seems to have taken place.
