Rugby player plays with ruptured testicle

We're familiar with the expression, "Putting it all on the line," when it comes to sport and, as it turns out, some moments work out more literally than others. British Rugby player Paul Wood can attest to that wholeheartedly.

Wood, playing for the Warrington Wolves of the Super League, took a knee to the groin during the second half of Saturday's Super League Grand Final against the Leeds Rhinos. He played the rest of the game before heading to hospital.

When Wood arrived at the hospital, he had his right testicle removed because of a rupture.

To be clear: He played through a ruptured testicle.

Wood commented on the situation via his Twitter account.

For someone who just suffered an incredibly painful and awful injury, Paul Wood has one hell of a sense of humour and probably hasn't done anything to disprove those who think European Footballers are soft.

His Twitter profile says he is studying for his Master's at Bolton University, but we can all agree he's got a Ph.D in kicking ass and taking names.
