Mike Trout Robs Another Home Run
Angels 20-year-old center fielder (and quite possibly robot) Mike Trout is putting together an absolutely ridiculous season offensively. Check out the numbers that the rookie brought into Saturday night's game against the White Sox:
.347 AVG, 19 HR, 57 RBI, 33 SB in 36 attempts, .408 OBP, .603 SLG, 1.012 OPS in 387 plate appearances).
To put his offensive numbers into perspective, here's where he ranks among American League leaders in some categories (again, coming into Saturday):
Batting Average- 1st
Runs Scored- 1st
On-Base Percentage- 3rd
Slugging Percentage- 3rd
OPS- 2nd
OPS+- 1st
Stolen Bases- 1st
Offensive WAR- 1st
I could go on and on, but you get the point: he's absolutely dominating at the plate and on the basepaths. Oh, and he's pretty damn good defensively as well. And on Saturday night, he made his second spectacular home-run robbing catch of the season (click here for his first one), on a flyball off the bat of the White Sox's Gordon Beckham at U.S. Cellular Field:

Just give him the AL MVP already.
