Hurdler Ignores All of the Hurdles

There's something incredibly futile about hurdles in track and field. Really, why run and jump over hurdles in a race when you can just run around a track and have the fastest runner win?

These are pressing philosophical questions and one hurdler evaluated them in his mind at the Chinese University Games.

What ensued was a revelation and reaction along the lines of "screw this" as he proceeds to run into the first two hurdles and then just run through the rest of them. About three quarters of the way through the race he also tells running lanes to bugger off as he weaves his way through to the finish.

A valiant and noble sport undone at the grassroots level by one reckless rebel.

Take a look.

Most impressive of all is that none of the other hurdlers reacted to his swerving or colliding at all as if nothing was wrong. Maybe he had a reputation for this after all.
