Awk-ward: Ice Dancing Siblings

awkward

Above you see UK ice dancers Sinead and John Kerr, who... yes... are brother and sister. Awk-ward!!!

And I don't mean to pick on just them, because they're one of four pairs of sibling ice dancers who will be competing in the event in Vancouver. And it turns out that in ice dancing there are certain elements that are compulsory for all pairs, and at these games they'll be required to dance the tango. Awk-ward!!!

In a reasonably interesting pieces, the Wall Street Journal plumbed the depths (awk-ward!!!) of what they call "this particular pickle." Awk-ward!!!

"Ice dancers learn to become actors of sorts," says the article. "Our coach told us envision someone else's head is there," says Chris Reed, 20, who dances with his sister Cathy for Japan (wait, what?). "It's all an act."

Judging from the picture there, it's one hell of an act.
