Morrow Scores For Calgary

Team Canada’s Brenden Morrow has put up some more than respectable numbers during his NHL career, but I don’t get the feeling he’s ever really been considered a sniper. However, he might just dispel that notion with the way he picked the bottom corner against Marty Turco in a game last night. The fact that Turco and Morrow are teammates? Doesn’t really matter if you ask me. From his face-covering reaction, I get the impression that Morrow wasn’t so pleased with his effort, but I don’t know… I thought it was a pretty good shot.

Of course, almost as funny as Morrow scoring on his own net is the fact that, because the Flames need all the help they can get these days—what? Matt Stajan hasn’t turned them around yet?—this was the only goal they could manage in a 3-1 loss.
