Obligatory Sports Babe

Given that the Super Bowl will be played next Sunday, we'll be running with a Super Bowl WAGs theme for the OSB this week. Who better to kick off this week's gallery with than Gisele Bündchen?

Gisele, of course, is married to the New England Patriots' hunk of a quarterback. I guess being attractive and really good at throwing footballs has its advantages.

Today's Sports Birthday

Former NBA guard/forward Jalen Rose turns 39-years old today. Rose dazzled college basketball fans as a member of Michigan's 'Fab Five' teams in the early 1990s, before going on to a successful NBA career with stops in Denver, Indiana, Chicago, Toronto, New York and Phoenix.

Since retiring in 2007, Rose has worked as an NBA analyst for ESPN and TNT, produced ESPN's The Fab Five documentary and served time in jail on account of DUI.

Quotable

Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay spoke with ESPN's Hannah Storm regarding the flurry of rumours swirling around Peyton Manning's future with the football team. Addressing reports that the team is prepared to cut ties with the 35-year old quarterback, Irsay neither confirmed nor denied, but he did offer up this nugget:

“It’s your responsibility to not make decisions for sentimental reasons. This isn't fantasy football.”
