Obligatory Sports Babe hayden

NFL WAG week continues with actress Hayden Panettiere. Hayden is almost in Kim Kardashian territory when it comes to serial athlete dating, but unlike Kimmy Cakes, Panettiere is fairly subtle with her jersey chasing.

After spending several years as the main squeeze of gigantic heavyweight boxer Wladimir Klitschko, Hayden has moved on and is now the lady love of New York Jets receiver Scotty McKnight.

Today's Sports Birthday

Bayern Munich midfielder and German international Toni Kroos turns 22 today. I know I say this every time a European footballer has a birthday, but I really expected him to be older, because I've been hearing about this guy since about 2007.

Quotable

Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs — a graduate of the prestigious Ball So Hard University — isn't impressed by Tim Tebow's connection to the divine. Here's what he said about Tebow's relationship with God on ESPN's First Take:

"With all due respect, we don't need God on our sidelines. Once again, God had to save Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos. [Tebow] couldn't even give them two drives? Seven to three?"

Serena Williams has admitted that doesn't like working out, "actually never liked sports," and isn't crazy about tennis. (Jocks and Stiletto Jill)

Steelers Coach Mike Tomlin has said that he won't play starting safety Ryan Clark in Sunday's game against the Broncos. Clark has the sickle-cell trait, which flares up if he exerts himself at high altitudes. After he last played in Denver, back in 2007, Clark lost 30 pounds and had to have his spleen and gall bladder removed. (Deadspin)

New Ohio State Buckeyes football Coach Urban Meyer has banned his players from using Twitter. This is a pretty smart decision on his part, but a total bummer for sports bloggers like myself, who love it when college football players tweet dumb things. (Bloguin)

Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Mike Martz resigned earlier this week, citing "philosophical differences." (Helmet 2 Helmet)
