Damn, Newton!

I admit it, I'm a Cam Newton hater.

Or at least, I was. It's possible I'm now a recovering Cam Newton hater. 

Between declaring himself an "entertainer and icon" before ever taking an NFL snap, admitting that he was having trouble processing the Panthers' playbook and just generally having to swallow the gross hero worship from Auburn fans, I was pretty sure that Cam Newton was going to fall on his face in the NFL, and was really excited to watch him do it.

Then Sunday happened.

I haven't gone all the way to the other side. I realize that one admittedly amazing game does not make a career. I also realize that the Panthers still lost. But all that said, Newton did a remarkable job of telling me, and others like me, that we should probably shut up and stick to talking about things we're familiar with.

(In my case, that would be hip-hop hits of the mid-90s, Korean barbeque and what happens when you drink four Red Bulls in an hour on a dare.)
