Worst Lip Dub Ever

Lip dubs are kind of a tricky business. Even good ones can kind of come off cheesy. Bad lip dubs, though, are often almost painful to watch.

This one, done by the Lafayette College women's lacrosse team, may be the most worst one I've ever seen. I'm not sure which is worse, the fact that the girls don't seem to know the words to the song — which is Katy Perry's "California Girls," a song so ubiquitous that even I know the words — the fact that large chunks of the video seem to have been shot on a cell phone, or the fact that it's so poorly edited.

Actually there are two things that are worse than all those facts combined:

1) The Lafayette Leopards are 1-9 so far this season. Maybe they should spend less time working on lip dups and more time practising. Maybe then, they could avoid getting steamrolled by Bucknell this weekend.

2) Lafayette is Easton, Pa. I've been to Easton, Pa. It's about as far away from the sunny beaches of SoCal as you can get while staying in the continental US, both physically and psychologically. The women of the Lafayette Leopards are basically singing a song celebrating everything they're not.

And yes, I get that this was shot while the team was in California. And no, that doesn't make it any better.

Am I being too harsh? Probably. I'm kind of an asshole.

Watch it and judge for yourself.
