Carmelo Anthony is one of the best scorers in the NBA, so when he was cruising to the basket on Saturday night against the Indiana Pacers, he was hoping to add another player to his collection of posters.

Roy Hibbert had other ideas...

The Pacers won the game to advance to the Eastern Conference finals.

Couture's OT Winner

Early in the second period of Saturday's Eastern Conference semifinal game between the San Jose Sharks and Los Angeles Kings, Sharks forward Logan Couture left the game with an apparent leg injury.

Luckily for the Sharks, Couture came back later in the period, and in overtime, did this...

The Kings lead the best of seven series 2-1.

Belfort adds foot-to-face

Despite having a questionable haircut, Vitor Belfort has made himself an MMA legend by turning the lights out on high level fighters.

On Saturday night, "The Phenom" (and sometimes "Young Dinosaur") added foot-to-face on former Strikeforce middleweight champion Luke Rockhold, and separated Rockhold from consciousness.

Spectacular.

Lillard's Rookie Of The Year Shoes

Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard is getting his own shoe made by adidas to honor his Rookie of the Year award.

Official release:

"The shoe’s sockliners feature Damian’s Twitter handle, an Oakland satellite print and “9800s” to represent his neighborhood blocks. The colors of the shoe pay homage to his career; red for high school, purple for college and black for the Portland Trail Blazers. The animal print on the upper and sockliner represent the Wildcat mascot he had in both high school and college. The shoe features "Townbiz" on the upper as another nod to Oakland and clasped hands to represent the "Fly Guyz" – Damian’s name for his close circle of friends."

This past season, the former first round pick in 2012 averaged 19.0 points per game.

Henrik Zetterberg's Pretty Pass

The Red Wings took a 2-1 lead into the third period thanks to Brendan Smith's goal with under four minutes to play in the second period. The finish was nice, but check out the pass from Henrik Zetterberg. Pretty slick.

Patrick Kane Connects In Chicago

Blackhawks sniper Patrick Kane had yet to record a goal in the 2013 chase for Lord Stanley's Mug. That changed with just under six minutes to play in the first period. Kane collected a nice feed from Michael Handzus and beat Jimmy Howard for the first goal of Game 2 of the Chicago-Detroit Western Conference semifinal. It was Kane's second goal in the 20 playoff games since his Stanley Cup winner in 2010.

Crosby's Hat Trick Goal

So, this Sidney Crosby guy is pretty good at hockey despite the fact he's playing with a barely-healed broken jaw, let alone a giant plastic...thing over his chin. Crosby scored his 100th career playoff point tonight against the Senators (in 75 career games) but decided he'd also like to score a hat trick. Because he can. And he did.

Cristiano Ronaldo's Red Card

Things got a little heated at the end of today's Copa del Rey final. After Atletico Madrid went up 2-1 on a late goal, Real Madrid was desperately trying to tie up the match. Then Cristiano Ronaldo kicked someone in the face...or did he? Regardless, the play led to a red card for Ronaldo which then led to a small bit of a brouhaha between the two teams. Atletico won the match 2-1 to capture their first Copa del Rey since 1996.

Jose Canseco rips 'Rod' Ford

Some rather funny stuff from late last night, east coast time, at least, on Twitter, as the Rob Ford crack-smoking scandal– the Rob Ford crack-smoking scandal (sorry, not sure how many times I’m going to get to write that)– was exploding across the internet.

You see, it would seem that Jose Canseco– who you may remember from his 46 home run, 29 stolen base, club record 159 strikeout, .836 OPS season with the Blue Jays in 1998, or, more recently, from his blatherings about becoming the next mayor of this fair city– doesn’t particularly like our current mayor.

He demonstrated this through a number of tweets in the wake of the Gawker piece about the alleged existence of a video of Ford smoking crack (which was also written about in the Toronto Star, who appear to have been working on a bigger piece on it but were scooped by their American competition). Thing is, dislike him as he might, he doesn’t quite bothered to learn the mayor’s name:

A sad man, even a powerful, ignorant, buffoon of a sad man, getting heavy into bad drugs isn’t really all that entertaining to me– fascinating, politically and voyeuristically, as it may be– but a sad man chirping a guy whose name he doesn’t even know? Hilarious!

Canseco, as you may remember from a piece Ben Johnson wrote for us back in January, will have a tough time ever becoming the mayor of Canada’s biggest city, but good on him for continuing to hump this ridiculous dream.

And if for some reason you really care to see it, by the way, apparently Gawker is trying to get people to donate so that they can come up with the $200,000 being asked for to buy the clip from the drug dealers who hold the video in their possession. Journalism!

Oh, and… uh… Taiwan’s Next Media Animation is all over this already. So… why not?

Kings Score Two Late Goals

Midway through the third period of game two of the Western Conference semifinal between the San Jose Sharks and the L.A. Kings, Sharks defenseman Marc-Eduoard Vlasic scored a goal to give his team a 3-2 lead.

With two and a half minutes left in the final frame, Vlasic took a delay of game penalty to put the Sharks down two men.

Ian Kinsler's Rough Slide
