Pep Guardiola isn't just going to overhaul Manchester City. Oh no. According to his father, Valenti Guardiola, the outgoing Bayern Munich boss is going to induce change throughout the English game.

Pep, confirmed Monday to be the successor to Manuel Pellegrini at City come the end of the season, won 14 trophies at Barcelona in four years, and his father expects him to replicate both his success - and the style that accompanied it - in the Premier League.

"He will look to carry on the football of his Barcelona and Bayern teams," Valenti told the BBC of his son, who's led Bayern Munich to a pair of Bundesliga crowns and will likely capture another this season.

"He has this attitude to football (as an art form)," Valenti said. "Not just to win, but to win in a distinctive way that entertains the public."

He added, "The style of football I see in England, I doubt he has that in mind. I mean, the football is very different. For that reason, I think he will have to change the mindset of English football.

"I think he will be happy - he wouldn't be leaving if not. Right now in Germany, he is held in very high esteem."
