Ingolstadt refuses to be intimidated by Borussia Dortmund debut

Berlin - FC Ingolstadt 04 coach Ralph Hasenhuettl says the Bundesliga new boy will not be intimidated by its first Bundesliga match at Borussia Dortmund's intimidating stadium.

Signal Iduna Park is set to be an 80,000-capacity sell-out when mid-table Ingolstadt visits second-place Dortmund on Saturday for the first time in the club's history.

Thomas Tuchel's Dortmund has scored 50 league goals this season with Gabon striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang netting 18 times in 18 league games.

Behind him, Dortmund's dynamic midfield trio of Marco Reus, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and Ilkay Gundogan all scored in last Saturday's 3-1 win at Borussia Monchengladbach.

Ingolstadt has made a habit of grinding out results on the road, aside from its 4-0 hammering at Hannover 96 last November, during its first season in Germany's top flight.

So far, 12 of its 23 points have come away from home after earning draws at both FC Schalke 04 and 'Gladbach, while the club lost only 2-0 at Bayern Munich's imposing Allianz Arena last December.

"Anyone who knows us, and has seen our away statistics, knows the higher the pressure, the cooler and more successful we are," insisted Hasenhuettl, who steered Ingolstadt to promotion last season.

The Bavarians' coach will want no repeat of his side's 4-0 drubbing at home to Dortmund last August when Reus and Aubameyang both got on the scoresheet.

Hasenhuettl admitted he was impressed by Dortmund's display at 'Gladbach when Borussia's midfield stars ran riot in the second half.

"That was a sensational performance," admitted the Ingolstadt coach.

"Dortmund is one of the best that the league has to offer."

Ingolstadt will be without key midfielder Pascal Gross, who is suspended, while Socceroos striker Mathew Leckie, who has scored just one goal in 17 games, is expected to start.
