Adam Szalai joins Hannover on loan from Hoffenheim
Berlin - Relegation-threatened Hannover has signed Hungary striker Adam Szalai on loan for the rest of the season from fellow Bundesliga strugglers Hoffenheim, the two clubs announced on Monday.
"Adam has played in the Bundesliga for a long time and he has always shown his ability to score goals wherever he's been," said Hannover's sporting director Martin Bader.
Szalai, 28, has also played for Schalke and Mainz in Germany, scoring 32 goals in 137 Bundesliga matches.
"I'm looking forward to this new challenge," said Szalai. "I hope to be able to lock down my place for Euro 2016 with good performances here, but my priority is to help Hannover stay up."
Hannover are in 17th place in the 18-team Bundesliga, just one point above bottom side Hoffenheim.
