VIDEO: Modeste's dramatic winner lifts Cologne past Dortmund
Borussia Dortmund's slim chances of catching up to Bayern Munich took a massive hit Saturday after Thomas Tuchel's men coughed up the lead in the final 10 minutes and dropped three valuable points against FC Cologne.
The visitors got off to a great start when Sokratis Papastathopoulos gave Dortmund the lead inside the opening 20 minutes. But a stubborn Cologne backline denied Dortmund several opportunities to double its lead.
Cologne had to wait until the 83rd minute to find an equaliser, but Simon Zoller made Roman Burki pay for his dreadful clearance by thumping the ball past the red-faced 'keeper.
Minutes later, Anthony Modeste sent the crowd at the RheinEnergieStadion into hysterics when his first-time shot in stoppage time put Cologne ahead.
The loss leaves Dortmund eight points back of table-topper Bayern Munich, which narrowly won its match 1-0 against Hannover 96.
