Adnan Januzaj turns down Belgium Under-21 call-up to remain at Dortmund
Borussia Dortmund loanee Adnan Januzaj has controversially turned down a place in the Belgium Under-21 squad in order to remain at the Bundesliga outfit's training ground in Brackel.
National team boss Marc Wilmots has allowed some of his younger ranks to drop back down to the U21 squad for a vital Euro 2017 qualifier in the Czech Republic, with Liverpool's Divock Origi among those happy to help out Johan Walem's side.
Januzaj, however, was not interested.
The 20-year-old has five caps for the senior team and at club level is looking to reignite a career that seemed to prematurely fade under the tutelage of Louis van Gaal at Manchester United. In his temporary spell with Der BVB he has only managed five substitute appearances.
Following this Sunday's meeting with Schalke, the winger will remain with Dortmund while the rest of the club's international contingent leave to represent their respective countries.
