With another weekend of Bundesliga action in the books, we take a look back at some of what we learned from the latest slate of matches.

Aubameyang proves to be just as lethal as Lewandowski

Robert Lewandowski finally has a challenger for the Bundesliga scoring title.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang caught up to the prolific Bayern Munich striker with his second straight hat trick of the week to draw even with 13 league goals.

The three-goal performance followed a hat trick that helped propel Borussia Dortmund to victory in the Europa League over Qabala. The tally brings his total in all competitions to 17 goals.

Bayer Leverkusen loves a deficit

Bayer Leverkusen is the perfect example of a club that thrives under pressure.

After overcoming a two-goal deficit in the Champions League against Roma earlier in the week, Leverkusen accomplished the feat once again over the weekend with another epic comeback.

Trailing VfB Stuttgart with 30 minutes left, Leverkusen stormed back with a trio of goals, capped off by Admir Mehmedi's dramatic winner in the 89th minute to secure a 4-3 win.

The victory helped maintain its place in a European position, while Stuttgart continues to toil in relegation territory.

Monchengladbach can't be stopped

Doubts over the legitimacy of Monchengladbach and its rise from the Bundesliga cellar continue to be proved wrong as the club surges up the table, plowing through opponents with a series of convincing wins.

Schalke 04 was the latest victim of Andre Schubert's men. In what would prove to be one of the most heated matches in the early stages of the season thanks to Johannes Geis' horrific challenge on Andre Hahn, Monchengladbach increased its winning streak to five matches with a 3-1 triumph.

Monchengladbach has climbed 11 places in the standings since beginning the season with five straight losses.

They will now see if the success can translate to a different competition, with a repeat date with Schalke on the horizon in the DFB-Pokal on Wednesday.

Bayern Munich becomes 1st German team to reach 1,000 league wins

Bayern Munich added yet another milestone to its collection after reaching the millennium mark for wins.

Following its disposal of FC Koln with a 4-0 win, Bayern became the first team in Germany to register 1,000 Bundesliga wins, and just the fifth club in Europe to accomplish the feat following Aston Villa (1961), Real Madrid (1990), Juventus (1991) and Marseille (2013).

Even Bayern supporters got in on the celebration with a cold one thanks to the team's offer of a free beer for fans in attendance:

The victory also secured a perfect start to the season with 10 straight wins, joining Manchester United, Tottenham and AS Roma as the only teams to accomplish the feat.

1899 Hoffenheim looks to new boss to turn around season

Perhaps Hoffenheim is hoping for a change of fortunes similar to Monchengladbach's when it made a manager change and surged up the table as a result.

Huub Stevens is the new man in charge of the struggling Bundesliga side following Markus Gisdol's dismissal.

It's quite the task ahead of Stevens as he attempts to guide Hoffenheim out of the drop-zone. The club has only managed one win through its opening 10 games, but could benefit from a relatively light schedule thanks to the fact that dates with Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are behind them.
