Jurgen Klopp expected to be introduced as Liverpool boss Friday
Jurgen Klopp's introduction as Liverpool's newest manager will have to wait another day after the club announced that a major press conference is set to take place Friday.
While the team made no mention about what the press conference entails, the former Borussia Dortmund manager is reportedly on his way to Merseyside, where he's expected to sign a three-year contract to join the Premier League outfit, according to various British media reports.
Klopp is expected to put pent to paper on the contract shortly after arriving in Liverpool and will be formally introduced at 10 a.m. BST.
Klopp is also expected to be joined by a pair of familiar faces from his time in the Bundesliga, as former Dortmund assistants Zeljko Buvac and Peter Krawietz will join him at Anfield.
Their arrival, however, likely means the end to Sean O’Driscoll’s time as Liverpool assistant manager, along with Gary McAllister's position with the team, though he's expected take up a different role within the club.
Klopp's appointment comes days after team owners Fenway Sports Group sacked Brendan Rodgers because of a poor run of results to begin his fourth season with the Reds.
Klopp will earn £5 million per year at Liverpool, according to Andy Hunter from the Guardian, who also suggests it's the team's third attempt to bring the German manager to Liverpool following failed attempts in 2010 and 2012.
