Hoffenheim completes signing of Edu Vargas from Napoli

Eduardo Vargas is moving to Germany after stints in Italy and England.

The Chilean winger, who won the Copa America this summer, has left Napoli to sign a four-year deal with Bundesliga outfit Hoffenheim.

Reports project the deal to be worth €6 million.

"I'm not only looking forward to the fans, the atmosphere and the stadiums in Germany, but above all to having the opportunity to show my aggressive, attacking style in one of the best leagues in the world," Vargas told Hoffenheim's official website, as translated by Football Italia.

"I want to be able to develop in a team which plays in a similar way to the Chilean national team."

Vargas had trouble replicating his success with the Chilean national team at Napoli. He only made 28 competitive appearances in three years with the Italian club in between loan spells at Gremio, Valencia, and Queens Park Rangers. Vargas enjoyed a much better time with Chile, scoring four goals on the way to the Copa America crown in June and July.

He is now expected to fill the void left by Roberto Firmino, who departed southern Germany for Liverpool in June. Vargas also follows a pair of Chile teammates in the move to the Bundesliga, as Bayern Munich signed midfielder Arturo Vidal and Bayer Leverkusen snatched up Charles Aranguiz, who only last week tore his Achilles.
