Borussia Dortmund supporters plan protest against Hoffenheim ticket price

Borussia Dortmund supporters are not pleased with opposition outfit Hoffenheim and are planning a protest against the club after ticket prices were set at €55 for the two teams' meeting in September.

Hoffenheim has staggered its ticket prices this season, charging a premium for matches against top opposition like Bayern Munich and Dortmund.

"That price structure can't be justified," read a message to Dortmund fans, as translated by ESPNFC. "We are asked to pay significantly more only because our jerseys have the wrong colours. We came to the conclusion that there is no alternative to a boycott. Don't buy tickets for the match in Hoffenheim."

Hoffenheim made 1000 tickets available for purchase in the 30,150-seat Rhein-Neckar Arena. An additional 1,750 tickets for standing sections will be sold at €18. Dortmund fans are subject to a 10 percent charge from their own club, bringing their total to roughly €60.

Comparatively, the cheapest seats for Hoffenheim fans are set at €26, and €35 gets Hoffenheim supporters a similar seat as the Dortmund allocation in a different part of the stadium. North and south side seats provide similar views, but Dortmund fans must pay €20 more.

Dortmund supporters are currently discussing methods of protest for the Sept. 23 match between the two sides. Tickets are not yet available for purchase from Dortmund's site.
