Bayern Munich announced on Tuesday that Arturo Vidal pen pen to paper on a four-year contract with the club, keeping him at the Allianz Arena until 2019.

Vidal, who is joining Bayern from Juventus, arrived in Munich on Monday to complete the pre-transfer formalities and undergo the obligatory medical, four days after it was confirmed that the two clubs had reached an agreement for the player.

The Italian club pockets a handsome €37 million for the Chilean dynamo - to be paid over two seasons - and could net an additional €3 million in performance-related bonuses.

"I'm very happy," the mohawk-clad midfielder said. "This is a new step in my career and I hope I do well here. I want to help the team and win trophies. It's a dream come true for me personally."

Upon being asked why he decided to join Bayern, Vidal replied: "I wanted to take another big step forward in my career. I want to keep developing as a player and win important trophies like the Champions League. I think the best opportunity to do so is with Bayern."

Despite the change of allegiance, there will be no change of shirt number for The Warrior, as he'll continue to don the No. 23 that he wore at Juventus.

Last season saw Vidal notch seven goals and four assists through 28 Serie A appearances, and help the club come within one fixture of capturing the elusive Treble.
