VIDEO: Bayern miss 4 penalties, lose treble dream as Dortmund reach German Cup final
Berlin - Bayern Munich's hopes of winning the treble were ended Tuesday after losing to Borussia Dortmund on penalties as their German Cup semifinal finished 1-1 after extra-time.
Robert Lewandowski opened the scoring in the opening half, only for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to level the scoring in the 75th minute, ultimately sending the contest to penalties after neither team could find the tiebreaker in extra time.
Bayern, crowned Bundesliga champions on Sunday, lost the shootout 2-0 after incredible scenes saw them miss all four of their spot-kicks - three of which in shocking fashion.
The victory pushes Dortmund into the German Cup final on May 30, where they will play the winner of Wednesday's other semifinal contest between Wolfsburg and Arminia Bielefeld.
