In a community where money dictates success, the Premier League's record £5.14-billion television deal is inevitably leading to concerns over a disparity that could ensue between English clubs and the rest of Europe's top sides.
The worries are clearly justified, particularly among clubs such as Bayern Munich, whose Champions League supremacy in recent years stands to take a hit.
During their side's 8-0 thrashing of Hamburg on Saturday, supporters of Bayern voiced their opinion on the matter by unveiling a banner that read "This Ain't No Premier League" above another German-language banner that read "No To The English Model" directly below.
Of course, no league in the world - the Bundesliga included - would turn down such a lucrative television deal, and the banner should be viewed as nothing more than yet another swipe in the rivalry between German football and English football.
