Bayern Munich's Badstuber to undergo surgery after tearing thigh tendon
Bayern Munich defender Holger Badstuber was forced to leave Saturday's game with a thigh injury, as the joy of beginning a Bundesliga season without any injury concerns proved to be short-lived.
Adding to his distress was Sunday's announcement from the club that Badstuber tore a tendon in his left thigh and will require surgery.
The newest injury, as described by the club, will require a "longer-term" recovery process once again.
"Of course I am very disappointed at the moment but now I know how to deal with such a situation. Don't worry - I'll be back," Badstuber said, per USA Today.
The injury comes just shy of two months since his return to the squad from a 20-month absence. He suffered an ACL injury in Dec. 2012, and re-injured the tendon in May 2013.
