Guede's double sees Freiburg rout Eintracht
Frankfurt, Germany - Karim Guede netted a second-half double on Sunday, propelling Freiburg to a comfortable 4-1 victory over Eintracht at the Commerzbank Arena.
The traveling side had the better of the play in the early stages and opened the scoring in the 34th minute through a goal from Julian Schuster and Freiburg took the one-goal margin into the intermission.
Freiburg then seized control of the match in the second half as Guede gave the club the two-goal lead with a goal in the 54th minutes, but Eintracht pulled one back through Joselu in the 59th minute.
Felix Klaus netted a third goal for Freiburg with 20 minutes to play and Guede completed his double in stoppage time to put an exclamation point on a solid performance.
The result helps Freiburg inch closer to safety as the club is just one point adrift of climbing out of the relegation zone, while Eintracht stays in 13th place on 26 points.
Also in the Bundesliga on Sunday, Hakan Calhanoglu's tally 10 minutes from time and an own goal from Mike Frantz were enough to hand Hamburg a 2-1 result over Nurnberg at the Imtech Arena.
