The German Football Association (DFB) has requested an explanation from Bayern Munich head coach Carlo Ancelotti regarding an offensive gesture he made toward Hertha Berlin fans during a 1-1 draw on Saturday.
The Italian tactician, who already admitted to showing opposition fans the middle finger, has been summoned to "submit a statement on the events that transpired," with Bayern confirming that Ancelotti will "of course comply with the request."
Ancelotti explained to reporters that he had given fans the middle finger after being spat at, with Hertha fans angered by a 96th-minute equaliser scored by Robert Lewandowski at the Olympic Stadium.
"Yes, I made the gesture after being spat at," Ancelotti told broadcaster ARD.
