Watch: Lewandowski salvages point at the death for Bayern

Days after making a mockery of Arsenal, Bayern Munich was seconds away from dropping just its second Bundesliga match of the campaign Saturday at Hertha Berlin.

In stepped Robert Lewandowski, whose 96th-minute equaliser was the last kick of the match and the Polish international's 25th goal of the season in all competitions. The forward has now reached that milestone in six consecutive campaigns.

The host will feel aggrieved after gifting the Bavarian giant a last-ditch free-kick on the edge of the area, which cancelled out Vedad Ibisevic's first-half opener when the Bosnian international flicked on Marvin Plattenhardt's dead-ball effort.

Bayern now has an eight-point cushion on RB Leipzig ahead of the Bundesliga debutant's match Sunday at Borussia Monchengladbach. Hertha could have vaulted Eintracht Frankfurt for fifth after Niko Kovac's Eagles lost at home to relegation fodder Ingolstadt, though the capital club remains sixth on 34 points in the final Europa League slot.
