Bayer Leverkusen only considering 'crazy' offers for Chicharito

Bayer Leverkusen will only allow forward Javier Hernandez to leave the club if another side were to offer "crazy money" for his signature, according to sporting director Rudi Voller.

The 28-year-old Mexico international has been linked with the LA Galaxy of Major League Soccer as early as the 2016 season, but talks cooled as the man known affectionately as Chicharito found his scoring feet in the Bundesliga.

But Voller says it would take a massive offer to pry him out of Leverkusen.

"We need him to achieve our goals," Voller said, according to ESPN FC. "It's difficult in the winter to get a reasonable replacement.

"Of course, we are a club which at least has to consider crazy offers."

Chicharito has remained in fine form this season, scoring five goals in 15 Bundesliga appearances, as well as one goal apiece in the Champions League and German Cup.

Last season, he finished fourth in the Bundesliga top scorer standings with 17 goals, three behind third-placed Thomas Muller.

The LA Galaxy are among Chicharito's primary suitors, as Curt Onalfo's side will be without key striker Robbie Keane for the first season since he joined in 2011. The club currently employs one attacking star in Giovani Dos Santos, one of Hernandez's teammates for Mexico.
