Rafinha signs new Bayern Munich contract through 2018
Bayern Munich announced Friday the club has signed an extended contract agreement with right full-back Rafinha, penning the Brazilian through the 2018 Bundesliga season.
The 31-year-old has been a regular fixture in the team since joining the Bavarians in 2011, having made 185 appearances in all competitions, scoring four goals.
"I have been here almost six years now," Rafinha said in a tweet posted by the club. "(Bayern) is like a second family to me and one of the best clubs in the world."
Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge added that Rafinha "is an important player for us on the pitch, but also a very popular man in the dressing room."
With Bayern, Rafinha has won four successive Bundesliga titles, as well as the UEFA Champions League in 2012-13 and the FIFA Club World Cup in 2013. He has also made two appearances for the Brazilian national team.
