Bayern missing Robben, Martinez for Dortmund tilt

Both Arjen Robben and Javi Martinez will sit out Bayern Munich's Der Klassiker with Borussia Dortmund on Saturday after failing to overcome their respective injury complaints.

They join Kingsley Coman on the sidelines, who tore the cruciate ligament in his knee and ruptured the ankle capsule in his left leg on international duty with France. He will be out of commission for around two months.

Robben missed the Netherlands' friendly against Belgium over the international break in an effort to be fit for the Dortmund clash, but unfortunately it comes too soon for the winger. Martinez, meanwhile, continues to battle with hamstring issues.

Coman and Robben's absences mean duties on the flanks would likely be handed to the rejuvenated Franck Ribery and pace merchant Douglas Costa by manager Carlo Ancelotti.

As has been the case for a significant chunk of the 2016-17 term, Thomas Tuchel has his own selection quandaries due to injuries at Dortmund. Marco Reus looked set to feature this weekend for the first time since May after a tear in his abductor muscle, but has picked up a slight heel problem in training.
