Fans couldn't have asked for more during Wednesday night's six-goal thriller between AC Milan and Bayern Munich in International Champions Cup action.

With the game edging towards full-time, Bayern, with manager Carlo Ancelotti taking charge of his first official match, snatched the victory out of Milan's grasps with a late penalty to make it 3-3 in the final minutes and force extra time.

After an additional 30 minutes solved nothing, Milan edged out Bayern in the penalty shootout with a 5-3 win.

The performance from both teams during regulation time, however, is where fans got the most bang for their buck.

First-half goals from Franck Ribery and David Alaba erased Milan’s early lead and gave the Germans an advantage that barely lasted into the second half.

Andrea Bertolacci’s goal four minutes after the break was followed by a 30-yard effort from Juraj Kucka (who also scored a sneaky Panenka during the shootout) that took a massive deflection before hitting the back of the net.

It was a goal that should have been the winner had it not been for Ribery’s late penalty conversion. But the Serie A outfit got the final laugh and will undoubtedly carry an additional bit of confidence into the next match of the competition against Liverpool on Sunday.
